So what's new with my trip, eh?
Well, the Lonely Planet that I bought for the trip currently looks likes it's been to Hell and back. So I've read up on quite a lot of what I want to see and do. But the main problem is what to see when, eh? I guess I won't be able to answer that question until I'm actually down there and done with my DM course. I guess that's what I'm mainly worried about right now, getting through with that without any serious hick ups (read: accidents).
My backpack has arrived finally, so I'm going to go and pick that up today most likely. It took about a months waiting to get it, so hopefully I won't be disappointed when I get it. Actually, I hope that it's going to be whole, that there won't be any problems with it, and that I can just use it from the get go, and I won't have to send it back for some sort of repairs or something like that (like my camera, iPod, phone, etc).
Currently been looking for some paintball events that I can check out. Gotten two replies to my inquires on a NZ pball forum, both of which seem promising. One is from a Swede that is also going to be down there while I'm there (but he's going to have his gear with him, where as I won't). And he'll be playing too. Bastard. I could bring my gear with me, but some how the thought of lugging around 40kg worth of stuff around isn't exactly the most tempting of activities. Sure it could be fun, but also it would be stressful. There would be that many more things that I would have to worry about, both to maintain and keep safe. So, I'll just skip that step, and I'll just try and rent the gear while I'm down there if I ever get an urge to play some ball.
Not a whole lot to report just now, I'm just packing up my stuff into boxes, trying to sell some stuff before I leave. It's going very slowly, but that's my fault completely. Mainly cause I'm not doing a whole lot to help it move forward, but yeah...anyway.
I'll write some more later on, when I have some more to write, aaaaight?!

What can I say?
During my never ending free time at work, I've been looking at photo's from people's adventures through NZ, and today was a bit more special. For some strange reason, I started to get a bit weepy. Yup, you read it right, my eyes started to water a bit. Hey! I hardly know what that was about. I guess I'm just so over whelmed with the fact that pretty soon I'll be down there kickin' it. Can you believe it?! I hardly can! And as Little J told me before, he told me that I'm not going to understand what I'm doing until I'm actually down there. I feel that he's right. It's the same feeling that I had when I was inter railing. We had no idea that we were just jumping over borders and changing countries over night until we were done. It's an amazing feeling without a doubt, but a lot to take in.
Is it good that I'm looking at the photos? My dad says that I'm just getting my hopes up really high by doing it, and then when I finally get down there I'll just be disappointed. There can definitely be some truth in that, however, I'm really looking forward to the freedom of it all. Buy a car, go where I go, meet who I meet, no routines, etc. You know where I'm going with this for those who know of the feeling. And for those of you who don't know, get your ass out there and do some traveling, simple as that. And write a blog. :P
Currently watching a live paintball internet feed from the states, really interesting. I'm really curious how good Kiwis are at playing pball. Going to try and go to some events and "rank" them, so to speak. And maybe hustle some people down there too ;) Pretend that I don't know anything about pball, and then just give'em a nice healthy surprise. Hehe...we shall see. As of now, I'm not really thinking too much about pball. Actually, I'm thinking more about how I'm not thinking about pball. I really love the sport, but I'm surprised that I'm feeling the way I'm feeling about it all at the moment. But I kind of have to blame that on the out come of the past three teams that I've been a part of. Oh well, we'll see what happens when I'm down there and how I feel when I come back.
On another note, my apartment. Or better said "my" apartment. I've been renting it 2nd hand, unofficially. Currently, who to describe this...hmmm...it looks like a real war zone. I kid you not. There are dishes all over the place, clothes scattered all over. It's like some one ran into my apartment looking for something. Trying to find my secret storage space for my stolen goods/cash. I'm very ashamed okay. But at the same time, I can't be bothered to clean it up. Not the slightest bit. Mainly because I'm leaving. However, there are some pieces of furniture that I have to sell, like my bed and closet. It wouldn't surprise me if I can't sell the closet, because it's a real POS (I'm not going to translate that, go to www.urbandictionary.com to translated it). But yeah, hopefully I'll get some of that sold off for a small fee. I know I won't be making a lot off it, but at the same time it's not a lot to have. I'm tired of my 90cm bed now, and I really want a queen sized bed for a change.
Aight guys, it's 00.07 time for bed.

Who's Your Daddy?!
Oh yeah baby!
I got my visa! It's a Working Holiday Visa, so that allows me to work while I'm there (no permanent employment though). But either which way, I won't starve!!! :D
Will write a bit more later!

Real bummer.
I read this when applying for my visa, it really got me down.
"Please note: New Zealand law prohibits any person on a temporary permit, including a Working Holiday Scheme work permit, from providing commercial sexual services, or operating or investing in a business which provides such services."
What the hell is the point of me going now, eh?!
Just kidding...or am I? ;-)

How am I going to do this?
I can't really decide how I'm going to do this whole trip. Since I'm going to be there during the summer, I'm wondering if I shouldn't do my DM, the head straight down to the South Island and then work my way up from there. You may be wondering: why would you want to do that Chris? The reasoning for that is I've heard/read a lot that South Island is a bit colder than North Island.
So, if I were to get to South Island at the start of January, then it would be warmer (theoretically) and a bit more pleasant. However, it would be the main tourist season :S Very bad. I'm the kind of person who likes to blend into the crowd and just hang out. I don't really like being around a bunch of tourist families and what not. It can get pretty annoying. Yes, I know, I'm going to be a tourist while I'm down there, I know I know. But you know what I mean, riiight? Also, most of the hostels and what not will most likely be fully booked! "Well, plan a head then, Chris, simple as that!" Yeah, but I don't want to have an itinerary. I want to take everything as it comes. I have a feeling that I'll be sleeping a lot of nights in my car or in the tent...hmmm. Interesting times a head is what I hear :)
We'll see who gets a call with me bitching and whining about how I don't have anywhere to stay, hehe. It'll be fun. I'm sure it'll all work itself out. Nothing to worry about.
It's fun to hear people saying that they'll miss me. I've never heard it from my friends before, and they're sincere about it too, which gives it even more feeling to it. Yup, I got some great friends! Oh, speaking of which, one of my friends, CBC (Celibate By Choice), is currently being my "pimp" for the trip. He's working as a waiter and meeting tourists from Australia and NZ, and he's telling them about me going down there and trying to hook me up with some people down there that can, hopefully, if the situation were to ever arise, help me out if I were to get into a sticky situation. I've currently gotten brief contact with one couple the he met there. Not a lot has been said, just "Hi, I'm Chris...cool, bye." But I've also gotten a hold of someone else down there: TB. I saw one of her pictures on Picassa web albums, and I just flipped. I contacted her where she took the photo, and since then we've kept in touch. Pretty cool! She's tipped me on some activities to do, and where to go. She's from the UK and doing what I'll be doing down there. Getting away from the everyday life and just hanging out.
Bah! I want to leave noooow! But there's not a lot of time left. Soon NZ, soon I'll be on your roads, exploring every crevice of your beautiful surface!
Wow, that sounds a bit creepy, no? :S
Meh, you know what I mean!
