Out'n aboot

I'm currently out at Mt. Cook, and guys, it's just amazing up here! I did a small tramp with people I SAW (never talked to them up there) out to Mt. Cook, and yeah guys, the views here are just out of this world. From the hostel I'm staying at you can see one mountain which looks like a mountain from the Alps (European) and then there's 3 glaciers here that you can see too. But for this hike, I decided to enjoy the moment more than actually document it all. I also took a dip in the glacial lake right by the base of Mt. Cook. Daaamn cold! But well worth it.

And right now I'm waiting for my new Visa Card to come down to Dunedin, so I'm going to pop down there one more time before I head up north to Wellington and check out this job I've been offered.

Until that time, I'm just going to be doing some travelling up and down the East coast and some of the inland.

In the mean time, I uploaded some photos for you guys to enjoy. They should be in the Landscape and Me folders. Enjoy!

Sc - Sc - Sc - SCORE!!!!

Well, guys I have scored a job in Wellington at a recruitment firm which seems to pay well.

So right now I'm going to be heading up to Mt. Cook to do some light camping and then slowly go back to Hamner Springs to take a dip in the thermal pools they have to offer and then slowly make my way up to Kaikora and finally ending my trip in Picton to then catch the ferry over to Wellington. I don't really know how long it's going to take I'm not entirely sure, but I reckon it's going to take about a week or so.

Sorry guys, no photos today.

I'll talk to you later guys!

FYI

It's been a while, I know, and I apologize. I've just been trying to get through my recent "loss" of Ms. D which is going pretty slowly. Not really surprised that it will take a long to get over a broken heart. Lame.

Where am I you ask? Duners bro! Uni town of NZ! Yeah, I'm still at the people I couch surfed at when I was first here and I'm more or less slowly integrating myself into their house. It's more or less an unspoken agreement that the living room is really my room, and I treat it exactly how I want to. I feel like I'm making a base here, but I don't really want that. Still trying to make Wellington my base of operations, slowly, so slowly that it's only happening in my head. Yes, I know, I'm going to get into gear and start doing what I have to do get up there and start living again. One step at a time.

Yeah, just wanted to say that I feel like I actually have some pretty good friends here in NZ now. People I can rely on. Not a lot, but enough.

Today was a pretty good day, one of the girls here invited me to go down to the Catlins with her while she visited some old friends of hers and what not. I figured, either sit in front of the computer all day and living in FaceBook/Gmail (very tempting) OR go and see some of NZ's best country side with my host and get to meet some real Kiwis (semi-tempting). I concluded that I needed to get out of the house and try and have a small adventure, so I told her I'd go to the Catlins with her. And it was well worth it.

Met some good people, ate some good food and played some good pool. I got to meet a really nice Kiwi family with two young daughters (11 and 7 I think) and they offered to host me if I was ever in the area. Which felt really good mind you. They were very hospitable: always making sure I was comfortable and just feeling good. And the mom was totally awesome! She kept on calling me dude! Seriously, think about it, how often does a mom call a friend of yours dude?! Very seldom. These are the type of Kiwis I've been wanting to meet. Which has lead me to believe that a lot of Kiwi's are clicky, no matter how helpful they are. There are a lot of examples that I can draw from now, but don't want to go into. Kiwi's are really great people, but very hard to get to know, and can be hard to make friends with. Something which I find very sad and didn't expect to find out. I still have a lot of Kiwis, don't get me wrong about that, it's just something I didn't see coming. Oh well.

There's not a whole lot to write right now, but I do have an some info for you guys which concerns my Photo Album. I've reorganized it so that it's in categories instead of one giant clump album. Hopefully it'll help you guys find photos and what not.

Enjoy!

paradise lost

Well, where to begin on this post. I'm absolutely dumbstruck as to how to start this or even where to begin.

Name: Christofer Olsson
Location: Internet Cafe, Melbourne, Australia
Status: Level 10 heart broke

As some of you may have already read on my Facebook status, I'm not doing to great at the moment (especially RIGHT now, just smelled Ms. D from another girl here).

I got to Sydney with amazing warmth in my body and saturated in love for Ms. D. I landed, and I got to see her after 4 long hard weeks, and it was just amazing.

I'm sorry, I can't write everything else.

Ms. D had been acting weird for quite some time, something that I brought up on several occasions, trying to find out what was the matter, with little results. While in my hotel room with her, I decided to see what was up, and came up with several theories as to what was wrong, none of them being the correct reason. I told her that I was one of her best friends (something she claimed previously) and that I wanted to help her by any means possible, and that we were in it together. That apparently struck a chord of some sort. She then believed that was the problem: she no longer saw me as her partner but as her best friend instead. She had told me that she still loved me, just not the same was as she did in NZ, and that she only loved me as a friend.

At this point I didn't really know what to do. Anyway, I don't want to go into too much detail in this blog.

Here's the final result: We are no longer together, we are still friends (so far), will miss one another, and I'm flying back to New Zealand tomorrow (I've already booked the tickets).

I can't be here right now. I need to be with friends in NZ.

So what will happen in NZ? I'm going to head back down to Dunedin and try to get myself sorted out, staying with friends I made down there, and then try to find a job of some sort, some where.

We'll see what happens. And don't worry, I'll be fine.

Greetings from -

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA!

I've now jumped the Ditch and I'm reunited with Ms. D and tonight we're heading on down towards Melbourne to meet up with my old man. So we're gonna be down there for a couple of days and then we're going to get a mini-van to sleep in and do some driving around. I'm pretty excited about it!

But I don't really have the energy to write a whole lot, so just head on over to the web album for some new photos. Mind you, I've added some more, but they're organized by date, so you might not of have see them straight away.

Oh, here's a quick story though. A story of deception, trickery and slyness - the story of the switcheroo at the Dolls House.

The very night before I left Chch I met up with a guy I met in Wananka while doing a tramp (a very cool dude), and he used to be a bouncer at a strip club, and he had accumulated (via tips and what not) about 1400NZD of funny money from the club (read: Monopoly Money) and he had left the club on pretty bad terms, so he needed me to go in and try to get some of the money changed into real money. So, he broke down the whole way the club was run and how I was to go about getting what I needed. He made sure I didn't pay for anything, not even the entrance fee. I was given a free entrance card for that, along with 200NZD spending money. Sweet! He told me to buy the girls drinks and give tips to establish that I was a regular customer with some extra money to spend. And then when I left, I had to make up a story and try to get some of the money changed on my way out.

So I got into the club for free, and it was pretty damn cold in there mind you! And then I finally saw girls dancing on stage (yes, I have been to strip clubs previously), choice. I then went through with the plan we devised and got 100bucks out the club. My friend was expecting about 30-40, so when I came out with 100bucks, he was pretty stoked! And as it turns out this guy is heading over to Swe-dala in about 2.5 weeks, so who knows where I'll meet him again :D

I would like to elaborate a bit more on this story but Ms. D and I have to try to find some cheap mini-vans here in Oz to boogy around in.

Till next time - have good one! Don't forget the photos!

Greetings from
